Calon Afan’s Port Talbot Town Heritage Trail
This lovely free booklet has been a huge success since it was launched in 2025. Incredibly well received by members of the public, thousands of the illustrated booklets have been snapped up; so this year a new wave of Town Trails is about to flood Port Talbot.
The Trail is an opportunity to learn more about the fantastic heritage of the town, uncovering hidden stories and wonderful memories along the way.
It will take you from the starting point, near the public car park by Carmel Chapel, in a fascinating loop around the Town Centre, back to St Mary’s Churchyard. On the way you will visiting some wonderful buildings still standing, and others now left behind, but still captured within the Trail.
You can find the Trail booklets, for free, in Welsh and English, in libraries around Port Talbot, San Portablo Arts in the Shopping Centre, and other local shops and cafes. The route is flat and wheel-chair friendly. You can also use the QR code in the booklet to link to the information digitally, as well as in an audio trail, on our website: www.calonafan.org.
If you would like to help us by having some of these lovely free booklets in your shops or public-facing outlet, just let us know, and we’ll deliver some to you: contact@calonafan.org
